Where am I ?

Well hello  blogland, It ' s seems I have been away forever. The truth is we have been so busy with school opening and running here and there, I just had no time for anything extra. Don't get me wrong I still have a ton of projects going on ( kitchen , table , chairs , etc) but no time . The kitchen is coming along, I did not want to rush it because, I wanted a $3,000 venthood without the $3,000. So anyway I am almost there and once I am done I don't want to look back and have any ( I should have done it different or I don't like that.)  Just a peek.

New Chairs

New Chairs .....Well I saw these and could not pass them up. The problem being where to put them. I am one of those people that firmly believe if you love it take it home and it will find a place. So I tried it every where and this is where they ended up for now.( wink wink). They are in perfect condition.not a stain or scratch. All wood and I love the cane. As you see all my stuff from the kitchen is in my dining room. (kitchen still being worked on.)

Thanks for stopping by.

NOT SO NEW TREASURE.

Ok, well remember when I found a collection of the Johnson brothers OLD BRITIAN CASTLES. It had just the creamer And I just loved it so, I started looking around and was able to find a the teapot (love love love) . My really really really wonderful husband ordered it for me. Now I am on the lookout for the sugar bowl.
This basket of dishes was purchesed at a garage sale for $20 I just loved the red and white . The first time I saw it I was in love but because I only collected blue and white I passed by, The next year however It came home with me . I guess it was ment for me.

Here is the very pretty creamer. I love the set and It is all from about the 1930s. Very light weight and delicate. Thanks for stopping by.

I drew it out and will have the carpenter over next week or the following week to get started, meanwhile I am still working on my youngest room. I really needed storage, But not any old kind, I want a real top of the line country french buffet.( real cheap) I had to wait about 2years but I did it, I finally found her
Shot of platters on wall.

Here she is, she is gorgeous and so much storage , I will have her refinished to match the table. I want her just a little darker (walnut).

Kitchen Update..

Ok . It's been a while but my kitchen is still a work in progress. Here I have relocated the microwave to under the counter and next to my table. Under the microwave will be a larger basket that will be used for something not sure what yet I hope to have this finished soon. We ran into some other issues like a leak that ruined my flooring so I will have to have it all replaced.

Here is the full picture as you can see still no backsplash.
I love love my new cooktop and oven I am so happy we went with Bosch.

My beautiful island trying to decided which knobs I like better.
Thanks for stopping by, hope to be finshed with this very soon. Things left to be done
remove and rebuild upper cabinets over cooktop to fit a 36 inch hood, install backsplash, paint cabinets, Give everything a good cleaning. Cut back on all the things on the counter tops that hiding the missing backsplash.

Pantry....or not.

Well  today I thought I would share my Pantry. Yes this shallow space is my pantry. I really never used it other than for keeping my magzines, So It dawned on me one day why not display my dishes. So this is what I have come up with so far. I am going to make it wider and taller and if in the end I sell this house the new owners can put the doors back on and use it as a pantry again.
This is a mixture of 4 different collections. The bluewillow my mother gave me. The J&G meakin which we used when I was a child and had recently finished collecting the missing pieces. The silver pieces I have been collecting along the way, and last but not least the white ironstone which I am still working on and I just love the way it looks.

Bluewillow teaset with a mix of sugar and creamer in silver.

An ironstone  soup tureen I paid $4.00 for .

One of my thrifting silver teaset.

Updated Laundry Room.

Laundry Room update....

have posted on the Laundry Room a while back, but have since found a great set of treasure. Mind you I had to get it wasn't sure where it was going but I knew I would find a spot. I found this set of gorgeous pink and white transferware at an upscale thrift shop ( is there such a thing) anyway there were about 70 pieces. I paid $40 yes for all. I have always collected the blue and white. But when I saw this I knew I had to have it , the pattern is called old Britain Castles by Johnson Brothers. I love the different shapes of the plates and bowles. There are so many pieces I have to find some other spots arounfd the house to display them.

I came up with this patern.
There is so much I had to find new ways to display them.
 Here is close up.
I love the pattern I came up .
 close up of pattern.
This is my $5 table that holds my displays.
Just a little formal drapery for the Laundry room.

New Finds

Things found at local Gw and CL.

First this picture was found at the GW $3.00 no frame

This chair I have had for awhile it was purchased from CL and recoverd for my guest room but that did not work out, my oldest decided he wanted that room and no longer wanted to share with his brother. Why am I showing you this chair. You'll see.

This was the china we had when I was ten years old I got most of it from my mom and purchase the rest from CL ( not for use only decor and to relive my  childhood).price 30 pieces $20

This silver plated teaset   ( Sheridan) was purchased at the Gw for $25.00  I love all the details.
What a pretty handle.

The creamer.
Ok this was the find of the week This frame is 5ftx  4ft, Can you say wowww.The price $20.00

This Chair is my new love I love all chairs but the frenchy ones I love even more  See that was her long lost cousin before, Since they won't be dressed the same.  Don't be fooled by the tattered clothes she wears I have her pictured in some sort of check with nailhead trim. She is solid walnut , Look at her legs (so beautiful) I am on the hunt for a large red and white check fabric. I see the picture and new chair next  to each other when finished. The problem is where .LOL
